Current Interests!

The world is changing and expanding so fast i find myself hard pressed to keep up!   However these are the things i am currently interested in.  If u have anything u think i wuld like email me!!  I love to talk about weird off the wall things!   neway heres the stuff:

Deep Space 1, Ion Drive:   I read about this in a newsflashe from MSNBC.  i have never heard of the ion dirve before.  also i had never heard of the Deep Space 1 probe before.   this probe is desgined to be extremly efficient and uses this ion drive to propel itself thru space farther and faster than conventional thrusters.  Also it is using an advanced form of artificial intelligence to make mission plans and predict trajectoris and such.  TECH SPECS:  apparently the ion drive drives positivly charged ions of xenon gas at an approximate velocity of over 70000 miles per hour!  this sounds great however the ions have little or no mass and so this drive cannot work on earth or in its gravity well. The deep space 1 will be lifted into orbit using a conventiional rocket.   when the ion drive is fired off the probe only moves a few milimeters an ohur...extremly slow...but over a short period of time it will eventually reach speeds fast enought o catch up to a comet.

the artificial intelligence computer is called RAD 6000.  it was the same computer used on the Mars pathfinder mission

Genetic Algorithmns:   This is a program that solves a problem by generating several thousand solutions picking the best ten then generating another thousand solutions.  using this process, while sprinkling in some random solutions, produces amazingly sleek and efficient solutions!  In combinations with FPGAs, which are dynamically configured logic gates on chips, (configured by software making the chip do anything u want it to) this will chang e the way computers "think"  in effect computers will be able to think on there own eventually.  check out these links beginning witht hte article i read on it in discover magazine:

Adrian Thompson...one of the forerunners of this amazing technology

Egyptian Stonehenge: They found a Stonehenge type arrangement of stones in Eygpt.  These stone predict the equinoxes and they have also found cattle bones in an altar/burial site....these people were nomads and researchers conjecture that this is the basis for the religiopus significance of the cow in Eygyptian mythology.

Eyptian Stonehenge....again from Discover Magazine

Guitar: I am going to learn how to play the guitar.  I have gotten few kewl programs to help...one is a guitar tuner and the other allows me to play guitar chords or notes from the computer and shows me the fingering.

More stuff to come....i have been toying with Visual C++ latley.  Also i have been experimenting with HTML and am starting to get into CGI scripts...these are programs that run applications from the web.  Whole bunch of other stuff too..powerglove hooked to the pc.....3d animations......graphic manipulation (class pic do soon!!)  neway ne comments or other kewl stuff u know about email me!!
